Apple May Offer Mini-LED Devices Soon

It has been long rumored that Apple is working hard to implement mini-LED backlit display for some of it's products. We refrained from publishing such news without any concrete evidence to support such claim. Today Asia based tech portal DigiTimes has published a news article that focuses on the same issue and it seems like we were right on our speculations all along.

According to the report, Apple will implement this new display for their iPad Pro and MacBook Pro devices which may get released by the first two quarter of 2021. Number of companies are gearing up to support the supply chain to make this happen. Among the companies, Taiwan based LED chip vendor Epistar, testing and sorting specialist FitTech, SMT service provider Taiwan Surface Mounting Technology, backlight board supplier Zhen Ding Technology, cooling solution provider Auras Technology and process equipment maker All Ring Technology are some of the notable ones.

The report also stated that TSMC will be manufacturing Apple's new M1 5nm chip for both the devices replacing Intel chip. However, we are not quite sure if it is really meant to be for these devices or something new that Apple may release by the same time.
