Happy Father's Day 2014

I would like to start my post saying "Happy Father's Day" to everyone. Especially, to those well-deserved individuals who became Father already and celebrating this day with their beloved children. I hope you all had an amazing day.

Things are bit more complicated for me. However, I hope it will get better pretty soon. Just simply keep me on your prayer.

Fathers Day 2014Happy Fathers Day to all.

In my case, Father's day has no special meaning to me. I am sorry if that hurts your feelings but that wasn't my intention in any way or form. I have enough respect for my Father just like everyone else has for theirs, it's just we did not celebrate any specific day for that matter.

Growing up in a very conservative Bengali middle class family, we never celebrated Father's day. It's not like we didn't know about it or we don't honor the day. It's just our celebration of this day was pretty quiet one. Even though we didn't go out for dinner with our Dad but we used to buy some gift for him occasionally and sometimes Mom used to cook some special dishes that Dad used to like.

Luckily, in 21st century things are changing pretty quickly and so does our culture in Indian sub-continent. People gradually started celebrating this day in more like Western style which I think is really cool. Then again, we as the people of Bengali origin always enjoyed a deeper bonding with our Family and I think that is something we are really proud of.

Personally to me, my Father is my hero and my role model, my icon. He is the one who I always wanted be. On this special day, all I just wanted to say, "Dad we love you".
