International Women's Day 2015

Today is International Women's Day. A day to celebrate, appreciate and respect women from every walk of life for their contribution. A day, not only to recognize women but also for men to encourage and work towards empowering Women. Being a Man myself, I personally believe it is us who should take even greater responsibility & initiatives to "Make it Happen". To make sure our Moms, Sisters, Wives and Daughters gets the opportunities that they rightly deserve.

Across the World, many nations are celebrating this day. The United Nations has declared the theme of this year's Women's Day to be:

Empowering Women - Empowering Humanity: Picture It!
Very Powerful, isn't it? Surely, Human Civilization came long way and it was possible because of equal contribution of both the Men and Women.

I am no Feminist and I don't believe I have to become one to support Women and their rights as a Human Being. If we are to talk about Human Rights and Gender Equality, there is no way of denying that since the time immemorial, Women were and still are subject to discrimination. This must stop and stop it right now.

Don't get me wrong, but I am also not one of those "Man Basher" who thinks all Men are bad or evil. I think all the good things that we contributed to the World as Human Spices should be credited equally. If I were to ask who I love the most between my Mom and Dad? My response would be "Both". I don't know about others, at least that's what I believe.

To me, my Mom is my Inspiration & my first Teacher. On this day, I just want to say, "Mom I love you & I miss you".

Happy International Women's Day to everyone.
