No Time For Flash Cards

Allison has been teaching children in various capacities since 1993, which includes crafting, singing, and holding circle times. She started her career as a day camp leader at a local recreation center during her high school years. During her university studies, she taught various preschool-age and after-school programs and worked as a reading tutor while pursuing a second degree in elementary education. After graduating with honors, she became the director of a large childcare center and preschool, but eventually returned to teaching after a year, realizing that she belonged in a classroom instead of an office.

In addition, Allison is proud to have written about family literacy for Scholastic Parents on their Raise A Reader blog, and she shares hands-on ways to learn at PBS's Adventures in Learning blog. Allison is driven by her passion for early childhood education. She wants to help adults make learning fun and meaningful for the children they care for, whether it's in a classroom or a family room. With years of experience and a love for teaching, Allison is committed to making a positive impact on the lives of children and families through education.
