Julia and her husband, Matt, reside in Ontario, Canada on their 129-acre farm with their daughter, dog, and barn cat. Despite not having a farming background, they both enjoy country living and DIY renovating. Growing up, they lived on the outskirts of rural areas and had experiences such as backyard chickens, picking potatoes, and raising pet ducks and geese. They appreciate the tranquility and exclusivity that comes with owning a large property and take pleasure in activities like hiking through their woods and having no close neighbors.
While they have no intentions of pursuing farming as a full-time occupation, they have plans to revisit their childhood memories and potentially raise chickens, ducks, geese, and a goat. At the moment, they relish the expansive space and ambiance their farm provides. They devote ample time to their furry companions, which include a remarkable barn cat named Ralph and a rescue dog named Baxter.
