Mariah is a busy mother of two who values simplicity in all aspects of her life. She is part of a multigenerational family that resides under one roof. Before becoming a full-time work-at-home mom, Mariah worked as an elementary school teacher for eight years, teaching a variety of subjects, including first grade, technology, and special education preschool. She is passionate about children and education, and now recognizes the importance of home learning.
In March 2011, Mariah launched her blog to share her experiences as a mother, including what worked and what didn't. In July 2015, she rebranded the blog to The Simple Parent to reflect the focus of her life and the blog. The Simple Parent chronicles the lives of a busy family with multiple generations living together and finding ways to simplify parenting.
